TWO STEP SPARRING
(Ibo Matsogi)
Two step sparring is designed for the intermediate student to learn more advanced techniques, developing the same attributes as for three step, but with more varied attacks, thus allowing the student to develop and practice defending against various combinations.
The main purpose of two step is to practice combinations of hand and foot techniques, so the attacker must alternate between the two. Apart from the fixed sequences, it is up to the attacker to decide whether they start with the hand or foot.
For two step, the attacker begins in L-stance forearm guarding block, with the defender in parallel ready stance.
Starting positions:
Attacker - right L stance, forearm guarding block
Defender - parallel ready stance
